Below is my resume where you can get an in-depth look into what I've been up to during my four years at Troy University. I pride myself on being a hard worker that tries to get the most valuable experience out of everything I sign up for and do.
Mackenzie Foster
December 2024 Graduate - B.S. in Broadcast Journalism/Minor in Public Relations
TROY TrojanVision News Student News Director
January 2023 - December 2024
In this position, I report, write, edit, produce, and anchor not only our news broadcast, but I, occasionally, will anchor weather segments for our 5:00 p.m. newscast.
The Tropolitan Lead News Writer
August 2022 - December 2024
In this position, I conduct interviews and write an article to be published in the weekly edition of The Tropolitan, Troy University's newspaper. This is a scholarship position that I have earned where I am required to write at least one article a week. The Tropolitan allows students to report on different beats, for example the music beat. One student, Nate Henderson, publishes his work on his website and gets it published in the weekly edition of The Tropolitan.
WTVY News 4
Multimedia Journalist Intern
May 2024 - August 2024
During my internship at WTVY News4, I was able to work as on-air talent for five days a week. I would pitch story ideas, report, write, edit, and front my stories whether that was live in the field or live fronting in studio. I was able to report for the 5:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m. shows.
Other experience
With my experience in student media and with my internship, I have gotten the chance to report on big stories and meet very important people. I've had the chance to cover President Joe Biden visiting Selma for the Bloody Sunday Commemoration. I've also gotten to interview Alabama Governor, Kay Ivey, U.S. Senators, Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville and more public figures that are heavily reported on.
